Equality Officer – Gerard Gallagher
Hello,
My name is Gerard Gallagher. I am the Equality Officer with the USI for the year 2011/12. Prior to joining the USI team I completed an honors degree in Social Science from University College Dublin.
It is my responsibility as Equality Officer to ensure that all students in third and fourth level education in Irelandare not subject to any form of discrimination.
This year my core objective is to ensure that our members are aware of the work of the USI Equality Campaign. I will achieve this by holding training and awareness events for our members early in my term. I will also ensure that USI is at the forefront of social media.
This year I will continue the work of my predecessors lobbying Government to ensure that sufficient essential funding remains for our most vulnerable students, in particular mature students and students with disabilities.
If you would like to have your say in the direction that the Equality Campaign takes this year, or to learn more about the campaign, please do not hesitate to contact me on 086 173 8455 or on the office phone - 01 7099 300. Alternatively you can email me equality@usi.ie
